Corbett National Park

Spotting a Tiger in the core area of Corbett national park has its thrill. My trip to Corbett made some amazing memories full of adventure and thrills. I still can’t forget my daring hiking adventure in the Ramganga river and on the riverside hillocks. As if I am a regular hiker I jumped into that trip without prior thinking of that ‘D’ day of my life. It was winter and as we started the trip to reach the campsite by hiking through the village area which has a very thin human population. During almost two and a half hours hiking we only saw one school and three or four huts. As we started with some packed fruits and sandwiches, they are the only hope for our meal for the day.

When we returned in a different direction to reach the main road, the stretch was long and it had a dense forest. We observed fresh pugmarks, the guide also told many interesting stories just to complete our curiosity.

Corbett National Park had another relaxing and cozy set up next to the Kosi River. Sitting on the deck of the resort and just looking at the riverside had diminished some of my apprehensions and gave me a sense of peace in mind to revisit my thoughts in tranquility and isolation. A cup of coffee added valuable contributions to that evening. Then came the bonfire and live music performance by a local band.  Those old melodies had turned the isolation of the Kosi River into a lively atmosphere. That turnaround time from a tranquil solitude to a joyfulness had a very few minutes away as the atmosphere and the surrounding was situated in such a beautiful and organized setup.

Eating a few grilled fish and chicken tikka pieces after that warmed sit out was the best thing that I could think of and then sound-free sleep which lasted till the wakeup call for morning safari. Corbett has morning and afternoon jeep safari options available for tourists in Bijrani, Jhirna, and Sitabani. Whereas elephant rides are available along the buffer zone of Kosi River.
